Huddle

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026
In short: Huddle helps you organize and join in-person games and meetups. To do that we store your profile, the games/teams/leagues you're part of, chat messages you send in them, and — only while you have location access turned on — your device's location, used to find nearby games. We don't sell your data. Some of it (chat messages, ratings, reports) is visible to other users you're playing with, because that's the point of the feature. Details below.

1. Who we are

Huddle ("Huddle", "we", "us") is a mobile and web application for discovering, creating, and joining local pickup games and recurring meetups. This policy explains what personal data the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Huddle mobile app (Android, with iOS planned) and the Huddle web app.

2. Data we collect

Account & profile

DataWhy
Email address and password (or Google account, if you sign in with Google)Create and secure your account
Display nameShown to other players; also usable to sign in
Date of birthAge verification — Huddle is for adults 18 and over, enforced at signup
Bio and profile photo (optional)Shown on your player profile
Language preferenceShows the app and notifications in your chosen language

Location

If you grant location permission, your device's location is used on your device to center the map and find games near you, and is sent to our servers only when needed to run a search (e.g. "games within 50km"). We do not store a persistent location history for your account. A game's own location (the venue or pin an organizer sets) is stored, since other players need to find it — that's the organizer's data, not a location we've collected about you as a participant.

Content you create

3. How we use your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your chat content or location to build advertising profiles.

4. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run Huddle. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

ProviderRoleWhat they see
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, realtime chat, backend functionsEverything stored in the app — this is our primary backend, hosted in the EU (eu-west-1)
CloudflareWeb hosting and image storage (R2)Uploaded photos (profile/team/league/venue images); standard web request metadata (IP address, browser) for anyone loading the web app
Google Firebase Cloud MessagingPush notification deliveryYour device's push token and the notification's title/body, to deliver it
Google MapsMap display and address lookupMap tile requests, which can include approximate location, per Google's own privacy policy
Google AdMobBanner ads for free-tier usersStandard mobile ad-request data (device/advertising identifiers). Ads never appear inside an active game's chat.
RevenueCatSubscription management (planned; not yet in use)Purchase/entitlement data, once premium subscriptions ship

We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or to investigate abuse of the service — including in response to a report you file or one filed against you.

5. Error monitoring

Huddle uses Sentry to catch and diagnose crashes and errors. When something goes wrong, technical details (what happened, which screen, an anonymized device/session identifier) are sent to Sentry to help us fix it — this does not include your chat messages, password, or location history.

6. How long we keep data

Huddle generally doesn't hard-delete records — leaving a game, a team, or a league changes your status (e.g. to "left") rather than erasing the row, because ratings and match history need to stay accurate for everyone else involved. This means data about your participation in a game or team can persist even after you leave it, in the same way it would on a scoreboard.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and can't be undone. Deleting your account:

If you can't sign in any more, or you'd like a copy of your data, email ctrlaltdel226@gmail.com and we'll handle it manually. We aim to respond within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including if you're in the EU/UK, under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain uses of it. Contact us at ctrlaltdel226@gmail.com to exercise any of these — see "How long we keep data" above for how we currently handle these requests.

8. Age requirement

Huddle is for users 18 and older. Date of birth is checked at signup, both in the app and again on our server, and accounts under 18 are rejected. Huddle is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. International data transfers

Our primary database is hosted in the EU (Ireland region, eu-west-1). Some of our service providers (Google, Cloudflare) operate globally and may process data outside your country, under their own published safeguards.

10. Security

Access to your data is enforced at the database level (row-level security), meaning most data is only readable by the account it belongs to, or by people you've chosen to play with — not just hidden by the app's UI. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to Huddle.

11. Changes to this policy

We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and post a notice in the app for material changes.
